Croatia — crystal-clear Adriatic, hundreds of islands, charming harbour towns. Split, Hvar, Vis, Korčula. Lively in summer, beautifully quiet in September.

Italy — Sardinia's La Maddalena Archipelago, the Amalfi Coast, Sicily, the Aeolian Islands. Some of the most dramatic scenery you'll find at sea.

France — Corsica, the Côte d'Azur, the Calanques. Dramatic cliffs, great anchorages, upscale ports.

Spain — Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca. Beautiful coves, warm water, more relaxed than you'd expect once you leave the marinas.

The Caribbean — BVI, St Lucia, Martinique. Trade winds, lagoons, rum at sunset. Best November–April.

The Seychelles — granite islands, deserted beaches, extraordinary water. Best May–October.

Thailand — Phuket, Koh Lipe, the Andaman Sea. Limestone cliffs, warm water year-round, incredible food in every port.

French Polynesia — Bora Bora, the Tuamotu atolls. For those who want the trip of a lifetime.
